Set on stilts over the beautiful waters of the Nichupte lagoon, Capt. Charlie’s provides a feast for the eyes as well as for the palate. Just across from the monumental Mexican flag, Capt. Charlie’s offers breathtaking views of Cancun. Items on the menu are just as delightful as the vistas. At very reasonable prices, seafood entrees and Angus beef steaks are excellent picks, but for a truly spectacular gastronomical experience, opt for the all-you-can-eat shrimp and fish! Homemade bread in varieties including pomodoro, pepper, coriander, jalapeno and bacon are also worth a try. Those with a sweet tooth won’t be disappointed by desserts like amaretto cake and pears cooked in red wine & butter. Despite the gourmet menu, the atmosphere at Capt. Charlie’s is easy and casual. Dine there any time from 12noon to 12 midnight but sunset is arguably the best time to be there. Valet parking is available but as the resto is located right at the Riu Caribe bus stop it may be better to just hop on a bus.
